Jennifer Gowan CD(DONA)

Hi, I'm Jenny and I am the co-founder of Christian Doulas of Michigan. I am also a wife, homeschooling mom of 4 kids, daughter of the most high King, and total birth nerd. I have been a birth doula since 2019 and I absolutely love supporting women and families as they welcome their babies into this world. I grew up in Brighton Michigan and have since moved to Grand Blanc. My husband and I met in 2000 when I was only 17. We started dating soon after and finally married in Sept. 2006.  Our first set of twins came along in 2010. Yes, I said first set. Our second set of twins came along in March of 2017. After my second set of twins were born, I felt God calling me into birth work. I knew I had to make the move.  In 2019 I attended my first DONA workshop. 2020 sure did throw a couple curve balls we weren't expecting so I finally became a certified DONA doula in 2021. I am proud to say that I am now the owner of Beautiful Births with Jenny. It is my absolute honor supporting women and families welcome their new additions. Nothing compares to it, but I believe that's what happens when God puts a calling on your life. One aspect I kept hearing from several of my clients is that they were wanting a doula who would support them in their faith. They wanted someone to pray with them and give them Godly encouragement as they labored. Thats where the idea of this network came from. I wanted to give parents a resource to find a Christian doula who would help them during one of the most vulnerable times of their life. I also wanted to connect other Christian doulas with support with other Christian doulas. My faith in God is the most important aspect of my life. So why not combine my doula passion with my faith? Sounds like a great plan to me! I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.

Mary Piasecki

My name is Mary Piasecki and I am one of the co-founders of Christian Doulas of Michigan. I am a pastor's wife, Homeschooling mom of 3, and follower of Jesus. I have been a doula since 2018 but with some time off to have my son - who did not take a bottle. I became a doula after the birth of my daughter went from Home Birth to C-section. I got home and immediately started researching birth and what had gone wrong. I soon fell in love with birth and could not stop learning more and more. I started my doula training while pregnant with my son. I hired a doula - a mistake I made with my first was not hiring one - and the support I received only solidified what I knew I wanted to do - support women and families during pregnancy and birth. Every year I have been blessed with getting to know more and more families and my business has grown. I absolutely believe I have found my calling in being a doula and couldn't be more in love with what I do. On my website, and social media pages I share a lot about my faith and life in ministry, and through that I have gotten a lot of people to contact me because they are excited to have a doula with a shared faith. Birth is one of your most intimate times and many people find comfort in having Believers supporting them in the birthing process. Christian Doulas of Michigan is birthed (pun intended) from clients' desires to be served by doulas who Believe in God and can offer Biblical support and prayer during labor's toughest moments.
