Hi, I’m Gretchen! I serve families within an hour radius of Lapeer county. I’m a birth doula and Lamaze childbirth educator. Hi there. My name is Marisa Buelter. I am the proud owner of Nest to Breast Doula Services. I offer Birth Doula services as well as overnight newborn care otherwise known as a postpartum night doula. I was called into birth work after having my fifth baby. It wasn’t until then that I realized there is an entire different way to give birth then the “traditional” hospital way. My last birth made me reflect on my other four births (especially my first as a very young mom) and I found myself wishing those stories were different. My goal is to take my personal experience, my knowledge and my Christian faith to help other woman feel empowered and educated to have the birth they envision. I am also passionate in helping new moms with the joys of breastfeeding.

My journey began when I was 10 years old, and I witnessed the birth of my sister's daughter. I then stayed to help out my sister and brother-in-law after the birth for two weeks. I didn't realize it at the time, but I believe God was showing me a glimpse into my future. My name is Katie Crow, owner of Katie C. Doula. I have six awesome children, who's variety of births inspired me to get into this amazing work.  I am a certified and insured doula and also work as a homebirth assistant. Helping women find empowerment and peace in the journey to motherhood is my heart's passion. I love to serve through birth education and labor support in home, birth center, and hospital settings. I’m a homebirth mama of 7 kids who loves homeschooling, homesteading, and all things birth! I founded Shalom Birth Beginnings in 2013 and serve an hour radius from Allegan, MI. Hey there! I'm Brandy, a dedicated birthworker since 2016. Recently, I've embraced a major rebranding to fully step into my calling and serve the women I'm meant to support. In my everyday life, I'm a wife and a mom to our five wildlings. We're a homeschooling family, and we love traveling in our RV during the summer. In my downtime, I indulge in self-care practices like walking through the woods, reading midwifery memoirs or other birth-related books in a hammock under a shade tree, grounding myself by connecting with nature, and basking in the sun to balance my nervous system.

As I continue to grow and follow God’s calling, I hope to support women from all over the world through my workshops, freebies, and childbirth education courses. Locally, I have the honor of offering in-person birth attendance and actively engaging with my community.

My name is Jennifer Lewandowski. I hold a bachelors degree in early childhood education.  I spent 16 years with the Beaumont Parenting Program as a peer breastfeeding counselor and parenting partner.  My passion is teaching parents to be parents, whether it’s in pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, postpartum and/or early childhood.

Hi! I'm Nicole Reynolds - a DONA International Trained Birth and Postpartum Doula, as well as social worker, with a heart to serve others. I have worked in the social work field professionally for four years after earning my BSW degree in early 2020, and am pursuing my MSW. I see such importance in doing what we can to nurture parents during this delicate, scary, magical time of their lives. Whether it's planned or unplanned, I hope to bring comfort to families bringing a new life into the world. My hope is to assist and provide support and care so that they are less likely to face as many challenges in the system moving forward. With my background professionally partnered with grief and loss experience and my loving personality, my hope is to be the best Doula for you or someone you know!

My son was born this past year with the help of a doula who then inspired me to take on this career path.

I’m Stephanie with Gentle Birthing and my interest in birth work was awakened the day my first child was born in 2010 at home, surrounded by our midwife and birthing team. It was at that point I realized that more women need to know their birthing options. We had 4 more home water births in South Carolina before returning to Southeast Michigan where we welcomed our 6th child at home in 2020. 

I hope to support expecting mothers in the ways I have received encouragement and support from the birth workers in my life. Their support changed the way I thought about birth and what I was capable of doing.

Hey there! My name is Mary Beth Likkel. I am a bilingual (Spanish) certified birth and bereavement doula and a mom to two kiddos born in 2016 and 2020. Back then, I didn't even know what a doula was, but I had two really positive birth experiences on my own. Now, I'm pumped to help others have the same kind of awesome birth adventure.

I'm super excited to support you through pregnancy, birth, and parenthood, especially if you're feeling a bit nervous about it all. I want to show you that birth doesn't have to be scary or traumatic. It might not go exactly as planned, but it can still be a positive experience where you feel empowered and proud.

Becoming a birth doula wasn't part of my original plan, but I believe it was in God's plan. I started my journey with DONA certification in October 2022, and within three weeks, I attended my first birth. Each birth I've supported has been so different and beautiful in its own way—I've loved every minute of it. It's a privilege to support both men and women as they step into parenthood, and I can't wait to see where this new calling takes me next. 

Outside of doula work, I am known for being outgoing, driven, organized, and protective of those I care for and love.  In my free time, I love to be outside with my husband, 2 kids, and 2 German Shepherds. I also love to bake and I am a HUGE New Orleans Saints fan (and just an NFL fan in general).

Hello! I’m Arkady. My journey to birth photography has been anything but conventional. I grew up in Metro Detroit and studied Forensic Pathology at Wayne State University. One of my required courses was forensic photography—a class I absolutely despised. I wanted nothing to do with cameras or Photoshop. Flash forward to 6 years later, and photography found me anyway.  

Before having my own children, I didn’t fully understand the value of birth photography. My first birth was a gentle Cesarean, and thanks to my doula, I have treasured photos of my son’s birth—moments I wouldn’t have been able to witness otherwise. My second was a hospital VBAC water birth, one of the most exhilarating, empowering experiences of my life. Thanks to my mother, I have a few cherished cell phone images from that day—raw, imperfect, but deeply meaningful.  These experiences transformed me. They brought me closer to God, deepened my understanding of self-advocacy, and reignited my passion for photography.  

I know firsthand that birth photography can also be a healing tool. After my Cesarean, those images helped me process my birth, reminding me of the love and strength that surrounded that moment. Photographs are meant to transport us back—not just to what happened, but to how it made us feel.

Now, as a birth photographer and a doula-in-training, I am committed to capturing the raw, emotional, and deeply personal moments of birth, while honoring whatever journey you choose for yourself and your baby. I am also expanding my knowledge with Spinning Babies and working toward certification with VBAC Link, further strengthening my ability to support VBAC mamas both visually and emotionally.  

Specializing in birth, motherhood, and boudoir photography in Metro Detroit, I create images that honor the sacredness of womanhood. I can’t wait to work with you!

My journey into this work began after experiencing high-risk pregnancies with both of my children—a time that felt lonely and uncertain. Through those experiences, I learned to trust God’s design for birth and the peace that comes with feeling supported and informed. Now, I am dedicated to empowering mothers and their families with compassionate support, evidence-based information, and the confidence to navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
