Hi there. My name is Marisa Buelter. I am the proud owner of Nest to Breast Doula Services. I offer Birth Doula services as well as overnight newborn care otherwise known as a postpartum night doula. I was called into birth work after having my fifth baby. It wasn’t until then that I realized there is an entire different way to give birth then the “traditional” hospital way. My last birth made me reflect on my other four births (especially my first as a very young mom) and I found myself wishing those stories were different. Hi everyone! My name is Jen Kosakowski, and I am a birth and postpartum doula, as well as a lactation and childbirth educator, serving families throughout Genesee County and the northern Detroit suburbs.

As a mom, I understand how physically, emotionally, and spiritually transformative the journey into motherhood can be. Hi, I’m Angela Jenks, founder of Inspire Doula Services. I’ve had the privilege of supporting over 600 families through birth, postpartum recovery, lactation support, and childbirth education across Metro Detroit. I believe birth is both powerful and sacred. Supporting women during this season of life isn’t just my profession — it’s a calling and one of the greatest joys of my life. My approach combines compassionate care with evidence-based education and body-based preparation. I am certified in Spinning Babies®, the Body Ready Method®, and birth trauma support, and I integrate movement, alignment, and practical tools to help families prepare their bodies for labor and create space for a smoother birth experience. Through INSPIRE, I offer personalized childbirth education, movement-based birth preparation workshops, and specialized classes for families in both group and private settings. My name is Katie Crow, owner of Katie C. Doula. I have six awesome children, who's variety of births inspired me to get into this amazing work.  I am a certified and insured doula and also work as a homebirth assistant. Helping women find empowerment and peace in the journey to motherhood is my heart's passion. I love to serve through birth education and labor support in home, birth center, and hospital settings. I’m a homebirth mama of 7 kids who loves homeschooling, homesteading, and all things birth! I founded Shalom Birth Beginnings in 2013 and serve an hour radius from Allegan, MI. Hello, my name is Marissa Booth. I’m a DONA International certified birth and postpartum doula dedicated to supporting mothers as they bring their little ones into the world. I recognize that each birth is unique! You are the expert of your body, your birth, and your baby. My role as a doula is to walk alongside you on your journey, sharing my expertise and providing evidence-based research as we go.

My call to become a doula began three years ago when my son was born. Despite having a well-thought-out birth plan aimed at a natural birth with minimal interventions, some unexpected complications arose. Thankfully, I had a doula who’s support during this critical time helped me achieve my goal of avoiding an unnecessary C-section. She was able to calm me down, guide me through pushing, and support my birth plan to give birth naturally.

A few months after my son’s birth, a friend who had previously had a challenging birth asked me to be her doula for her second child. From this incredible experience I knew this is what God has called me to do, and I have been helping mothers since!

Hey there! My name is Mary Beth Likkel. I am a bilingual (Spanish) certified birth and bereavement doula, CLC, and a mom to two kiddos born in 2016 and 2020. Back then, I didn't even know what a doula was, but I had two really positive birth experiences on my own. Now, I'm pumped to help others have the same kind of awesome birth adventure.

I'm super excited to support you through pregnancy, birth, and parenthood, especially if you're feeling a bit nervous about it all. I want to show you that birth doesn't have to be scary or traumatic. It might not go exactly as planned, but it can still be a positive experience where you feel empowered and proud.

Becoming a birth doula wasn't part of my original plan, but I believe it was in God's plan. I started my journey with DONA certification in October 2022, and within three weeks, I attended my first birth. Each birth I've supported has been so different and beautiful in its own way—I've loved every minute of it. It's a privilege to support both men and women as they step into parenthood, and I can't wait to see where this new calling takes me next.

Hi, I’m Lauren — a doula, pediatric sleep coach, and educator serving families in Metro Detroit. I’ve been walking alongside new parents in doula work since 2008, and I’m the proud founder of Detroit Dreams Tonight, offering in-home postpartum care and infant and toddler sleep support. My name is Christine Scarlett and I would love to serve you as you navigate all stages of pregnancy and parenting. I live in NW Ohio and also serve Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti and SE Michigan within a 60 mile radius of my home.  I am a lifelong Christian. As a young woman I was influenced by a book called Sequencing, Having it All, But Not All At Once, and have been blessed to live that lifestyle. I earned a BSN in 1981, then married my college sweetheart. I worked as an RN in pediatrics, Peds ICU, and child psych before staying home to raise our seven children holistically. During that time I also served as a La Leche League Leader and taught parents Infant Massage.  I home educated for 27 years and have also worked one morning a week at a home education co-op offering Montessori-inspired early childhood enrichment program, since 2014. As an empty-nester I began serving my own adult children as a postpartum doula, eventually becoming a certified birth and postpartum doula as well as a Certified Lactation Counselor. I have taken ServSafe training in safe food handling, and also belong to a group of professional organizers in order to better help families set up peaceful environments. More recently I have completed training as a Gift Registry Advocate to assist parents in curating a list of essentials for their new arrival. I especially enjoy helping families pursuing normal, physiologic births, both in the community and in hospitals.  My own experiences include a cesarean followed by six VBAC's, then a miscarriage. I have given birth in the hospital and at home, including waterbirth. I enjoyed many years of breastfeeding with child-led weaning. Hello there. My name is Micah and I have been a birth doula for 7 years. I am also a student midwife and will officially begin my studies in the fall of 2026. In addition to both work, I am a teacher by trade, a small business owner, a singer, songwriter and musician, and a world traveler. I have had the opportunity to learn from indigenous midwives in three different continents and have a passion for learning about pregnancy and birth traditions in various cultures. I am also bilingual (Spanish) and working on my third language (French). During my free time (which I have very little of), you can usually find me in the kitchen baking up sourdough, decorating a cake, or making nutrient dense meals full of unique flavors. I also love to garden and am currently studying herbal medicine. The most important thing about me is that I am a daughter of the King. I am Aris, owner of Call the Doula LLC. I am a Christian Mom to 5 and Registered Nurse of 14 years. After working in Labor and Delivery for many years I found that I was unable to serve my patients the way that I wanted. I decided to change things up and become a doula to better support Families. This switch allowed me to use my nursing background as well as support my clients with education, before they got to the hospital. I have been a part of hundreds of births and every one is unique and special. God has blessed me to be able to pursue this calling over my life and I do not take it lightly. I believe birth is natural, but first I believe in each and every person that I serve. Choosing an epidural doesn’t mean you failed, choosing a homebirth doesn’t make you crazy, choosing to birth at a hospital does not mean you cannot have the birth you want. Hi there! I’m Janelle—a Catholic mom to (currently) three little ones. While my primary vocation is motherhood, God has also called me to walk alongside other women as a birth doula, childbirth educator, and breastfeeding supporter. 

I believe that birth is an extraordinary physiological event, not a medical emergency. It is beautifully designed by God to unfold as a natural process. It is our task to understand His perfect design so we can work with it. When we rely on Him, we can have a birth that is beautiful, peaceful, and holy, even when it doesn’t go according to our plan.

My faith is central to the support I give.  I believe God is the Great Midwife—the first to be consulted in all things, but especially in the gift of life and the sacred work of bringing it forth. 

I also believe that while evidence-based information is essential for families, it is not the whole picture. A mother’s intuition—often the gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit—should never be dismissed or taken lightly when making decisions.

I support families through a threefold approach: faith, intuition, and evidence-based care, all rooted in a deep respect for God-designed, physiologic birth. Because families deserve more than a birth story that ends with, “at least the baby is healthy.” They deserve births that are also happy and holy.

Hi, I’m Beth, the heart behind Born To Bloom Doula Care. I’m a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator and lactation counselor.  I live in Bay City and currently service Bay, Saginaw, Midland and Genesee Counties.  

I have a deep passion for supporting families through pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond. Walking alongside moms during such a transformative time in their lives is truly one of the greatest blessings God has given me.

I have over 30 years of experience as a medical assistant, which allows me to combine clinical knowledge with compassionate, personalized care. In addition to doula support, I am a lactation counselor, childbirth educator, CPST (Child Passenger Safety Technician), pediatric sleep coach, and CPR instructor, so I’m able to support families in a well-rounded, practical way at every stage of their journey.

My heart for this work is also shaped by my own experiences and family.  I am happily married to a man named Chris who is my rock and supports my journey as a doula fully.  I am a proud mom to one biological daughter and two bonus children who I love more than anything. My experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the beauty and uniqueness of every family no matter how it is formed.

I truly love being a doula. Supporting, encouraging, and educating moms as they step into motherhood (or grow their families) fills my heart in a way nothing else can. For starters, I am a wife, a mother of three, and a grandmother of three who lives in Fenton and attends The Freedom Center Church. As a new doula with Christian Doulas of Michigan, I am honored to begin this journey of serving families through pregnancy and birth.

I trained with DONA International and am seeking two additional women who feel led to welcome me into their birth experience as part of my certification process. As I grow in skill and confidence, I am grateful to lean on the wisdom and mentorship of the incredible doulas in our organization.

Hi, I’m Lexi! I’m a devoted birth and postpartum doula, midwifery student, and passionate follower of Christ. I’m also a proud dog mom to my sweet fur baby, Bill. My journey into healthcare began while caring for my grandmother during her battle with multiple stage IV cancers. That experience sparked my calling to care for others through some of life’s most vulnerable and meaningful moments and eventually led me to my passion for women’s health, birth, and postpartum care. I believe in caring for the whole person's body, mind, and spirit, through compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based care. My heart is to make sure every mother and family I support feels heard, respected, educated, and encouraged throughout their journey. As I continue my path toward becoming a midwife, it is truly a blessing to walk alongside families as they welcome new life into the world. When I’m not working or studying, I love spending as much time outdoors as I can. In the warmer months, you can usually find me paddleboarding, gardening, or simply soaking up the sunshine. In the winter, I love ice skating and enjoying everything the season has to offer. I also have a love for baking and spending time in the kitchen. On slower days, I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, and, of course, hanging out with Bill. I truly enjoy the simple things in life and finding something special in every season.

Hi, I’m Gretchen! I serve families within an hour radius of Lapeer county. I’m a birth doula and Lamaze childbirth educator. I believe that God has called me to serve women during pregnancy and birth, it is such an honor to be welcomed into the sacred space of birth. I’ve had the privilege of attending over 100 births, primarily in the home birth setting. I am truly passionate about physiologic birth and an advocate for midwifery care!
