CNM
Ashlyn Sconyers
Hi I am Ashlyn. I am a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). I have been a midwife for almost 5 years and recently moved back to Michigan from Texas with the birth of my third baby to be close to my family.
I have trained both in hospital and out of hospital as a CNM, however felt lead to focus my practice within the birth center model of care while in Texas. When I moved back to Michigan I originally had a job offer I accepted with McLaren Hospital. However, after a lot of prayer in my downtime postpartum, I felt God leading me in a different direction to open my own practice and this is when Rooted Wellness and Birth was born. It is my goal to always be Rooted in Christ’s Love: it is the foundation of my practice; guiding every interaction and decision I make when providing care.
I have a love for encouraging and supporting women through all stages of life to empower strong, confident women in their reproductive years and beyond. I love watching families grow through pregnancy and birth and coming out confident in their gifts as parents. I also have a passion for providing preconception and well-woman care that is integrative, to help women find healing through both conventional and alternative treatment options.

CPM, LM, BSM
Beate Martin
Hello, I am a CPM, LM, with a BSM, in the Fenton/Hartland MI
and service areas that fall within 1 hour OR a 45-mile radius from my home. As a believer, I sensed a calling to midwifery about ten years ago but actively pursued it after five years. Through my training, my eyes were open to the lack of evidence-based, compassionate care for women in the childbearing years. With each woman I served, my passion grew and my dedication deepened. I wanted to learn as much as I could. It often felt like I was created to be a midwife. It felt so natural and some of it came easily to me. I feel passionately about providing women and their families with compassionate and informed care! Now, on the other side of my training,
I have attended over 100+
births with hundreds of prenatal and postpartum visits for mother and baby. This includes thousands of hours of clinical work.

Krystal Throne
My name is Krystal Throne and I have been in the medical field for over 13 years. Just like you, I would reach for any and every resource that was credible to gain knowledge. Anything to feel like I wasn’t the only mother on the planet who didn’t know what they were doing. So after the birth of my third child I permanently changed to maternal fetal care focusing primarily on lactation and education.
Named by my husband, my little business is meant to be an inclusive and supportive evidence-based resource hub for mothers of all stages. As a Nationally Certified Lactation Counselor, I provide lactation education, classes, and consulting via virtual and in-person to help nursing moms. My mission is to listen to your goals and help you create a feeding plan that works best for you and your family without judgment. Breast, bottle, pumping, supplementing- My goal is to help you reach your goal, no matter what that looks like. .I love giving prenatal education for moms to feel empowered before baby arrives, and help them feel supported after baby is born.
My primary region is 1 hour radius from Romeo, MI, but in some instances, I may travel outside that radius or help virtually in any capacity I can.

Birth Photographer
Keri Harrison
I service Fenton/Hartland area and up to an hour away for birth and newborn sessions. On some occasions I will travel farther, just reach out:)
Hi, I'm Keri! I'm a mama of 8 and I fell in love with photography 14 years ago when I just had 2 children at home. I desired to take better photos of my kids, because photographs are freezing moments in time and memories in our hearts and it was through capturing my own kids that Keri Harrison Photography was born. I am a published photographer that specializes in Birth, Newborn + Family Photography.
If you are on the hunt for a Metro Detroit Michigan Birth Photographer, I’m your girl! I LOVE babies and am so passionate about my birth work! Birth sessions are my very favorite to document and I would shoot them all day if I could! As a mom of eight, I truly treasured each of my pregnancies, the births of my babies and those first days and weeks with my new baby. It is such a sweet and special season in life that should be captured and remembered for years to come.
The moment a new mom hears her baby’s first cry. The moment a new dad holds his baby for the very first time. I have photographed many different things, but there is nothing like the excitement of capturing the moment a new life comes into this world.
The day you bring your child into this world is one of the most beautiful days of your life, and it should be documented. Hiring a birth photographer allows dad to be focused on mom and baby, and be a part of the birth story. If he’s behind the lens taking photos, he's missing out on being fully engaged in the birth + baby's arrival and that's not how it should be. Without a birth photographer, it’s easy to be left with just a couple photos of baby after delivery. Having 8 children myself, I’ve been on both sides of the birth process – which has given me insight on the key moments to capture for you. I can't wait to capture your miracle!

Pelvic Floor Therapist
Dr. Rachael Elizabeth Miller
Dr. Rachael Elizabeth Miller loves helping mamas discover that the process of becoming and being a mother doesn't have to be scary. Instead, pregnancy, giving birth and postpartum life can be customized to align with what they envision all stages of motherhood to be like. So many moms and moms-to-be feel afraid of the unknown and wonder if they are going to be able to handle pregnancy, labor and delivery, and recovery. But, what she knows and believes is that mamas have so many tools and skills in their own power that can bring a healthy labor, delivery, and recovery for both mama and baby. For nearly 2 decades Dr. Rachael has become a mom to 5 kids via multiple birth methods and settings, and also built a thriving women's pelvic health physical therapy and coaching practice. In that process she has learned first hand that each mom's journey from pregnancy to recovery is unique and can be full of joy and excitement, rather than fear
